There is no account

You cannot sign up, sign in, or create a profile, because none of those exist. We do not ask for your name, your email address, your date of birth or your phone number, and we have no database of players. Nothing you play is attached to an identity we hold, because we do not hold one.

Your progress lives in your iCloud

Streaks, level and experience, the word journal, climb stars, unlocked word packs and power up counts are stored on your device and mirrored through Apple iCloud key value storage. That is your iCloud account, not ours: it is how the same progress appears on a new iPhone signed in to the same Apple ID. We cannot read it, we cannot restore it for you, and if you sign out of iCloud it stops syncing. Deleting the app removes the local copy.

Advertising, through Google AdMob

The free version of the app shows advertising served by Google AdMob. Ads are supplied by Google, not by us, and Google processes device level information to deliver and measure them, which can include an advertising identifier, approximate location derived from an IP address, and interaction with the ad itself. What Google does with that is governed by Google's advertising policies and Google's privacy policy.

On iOS, personalised advertising requires your permission. The app asks for App Tracking Transparency permission once, after the introduction, and never on launch. Decline it and the app keeps working exactly as before; the ads become non personalised rather than disappearing. You can change your answer at any time in the iOS Settings app under Privacy and Security, then Tracking.

Synonym Stack Plus removes advertising from every mode. That is most of what a subscription buys.

Usage metrics, through Firebase Analytics

The app reports aggregate usage events to Google Firebase Analytics so we can see which modes get played and where a run falls apart. The events are things like a game starting, an answer being right or wrong at a given difficulty, a game ending, a share being tapped and a purchase flow being opened. They carry no name, no email address and no contact details, because the app never has any.

We use this to decide what to build and what to fix. We do not sell it, and we do not combine it with anything else to identify a person.

Subscriptions are processed by Apple

Payment for Synonym Stack Plus happens inside Apple's system. Your card details never touch us and we never see them. What we receive from Apple is a receipt saying a subscription is active, which is what unlocks the features. Apple's own privacy terms govern the transaction. Managing or cancelling a subscription is done in your iOS Settings, as described on the support page.

Children

The app is a vocabulary game and it is suitable for a wide age range, but it is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. There is nothing to collect: no account, no messaging, no user generated content and no way to contact another player.

This website

The website is written pages and generated word pages. There is nothing to upload, no login, and no advertising on it. The site uses Google Analytics to count visits: which pages are read, roughly where in the world readers are, and what they searched to arrive. That is aggregate traffic measurement rather than an advertising profile, we never see anything that identifies you personally, and Google's own privacy policy governs the processing. Block it with any standard content blocker and the site works exactly the same.

If you join the email list, the address is used to send what you asked for and nothing else. One click unsubscribes and deletes it.

Your rights, and how to use them

Because we hold no account and no personal record, most access and deletion requests have nothing to act on: the data you would ask us to delete is either in your own iCloud, in Apple's payment records, or aggregated beyond identification in Firebase. If you want an email address removed from the list, or you believe we hold something about you, write to admin@momentumlab.ai and a person will answer.

Changes to this policy

If what the app does changes, this page changes in the same release rather than afterwards. The effective date at the top is the date of the current version.
